Family Ministry

The family is the foundation of all other organizations of the church and of society. The well-being of society, the success of the church, and the prosperity of the nation depend upon the influence of the Christian home. — Ellen G. White, The Adventist Home, p. 15

The Family Ministry Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Marvile exists to nurture and strengthen families at every stage of life—from marriage and parenting to single adulthood and aging. Rooted in the biblical understanding that the family is the foundational unit of the church and society, this ministry seeks to help families experience God’s original design for love, unity, and spiritual growth.

The department provides resources, seminars, counseling, and support groups that address the unique challenges families face today, including marital communication, parenting skills, blended families, conflict resolution, and healing from domestic stress. Emphasis is placed on creating homes where Christ is an honored guest, where prayer is a daily practice, and where each member is valued as a child of God.

Key ministries under the Family umbrella include:

  • Marriage Enrichment – Strengthening couples through workshops, retreats, and communication tools
  • Parenting Support – Equipping parents to raise children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord
  • Single Adult Ministries – Providing fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual growth for singles of all ages
  • Family Life Seminars – Addressing topics such as financial management, family worship, and healthy relationships

Mission: To strengthen families as the foundation of the church, equipping them to reflect God’s love, nurture disciples, and prepare for Christ’s soon return.

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
