She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms… She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”— Proverbs 31:17, 26 (NKJV)
Women may be the means of bringing souls into the fold of Christ, if they will but do the work that is nigh at hand.— Ellen G. White, Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 118
The Department of Women’s Ministries exists to uphold, encourage, and challenge Adventist women in their pilgrimage as disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His world church. Women’s Ministries is a place to address the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs of women in the church. It provides encouragement for women to improve their potential for participation in the mission of the church, offers a support system for hurting women, mentors young women, and recognizes that women have many gifts of the Spirit.
Focus Areas
The ministry operates around these three core pillars.
- Nurture (Reach Up to God) – Helping women in their devotional time and personal growth, enabling them to be nurturers in the church and community.
- Empower (Reach In with God) – Equipping women for their activities and projects for the church and community, helping them discover and use their spiritual gifts to God’s glory.
- Outreach (Reach Out with God) – Helping women use small group fellowship and evangelism to reach others in their community, sharing the good news of the Savior.

Women’s Ministries focuses on six critical issues that particularly impact women around the world:
