Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He bade them, ‘Follow Me. — Ellen G. White, The Ministry of Healing, p. 143
Medical missionary work is the right hand of the gospel. It is the gospel in practice, the gospel in deed and in truth. — Ellen G. White, Counsels on Health, p. 497
The Health Ministry Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Maravile is dedicated to promoting whole-person wellness—physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Rooted in the biblical understanding that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19–20), this department seeks to restore the image of God in humanity by teaching and practicing the principles of healthy living.
Health Ministry is often called the “right arm of the gospel” because it opens doors for evangelism and service. By meeting practical needs and relieving suffering, health workers earn the confidence of communities and create opportunities to share the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Core Principles
- Whole-Person Health – Addressing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being as interconnected elements of a balanced life.
- Prevention and Education – Teaching the eight natural remedies: Nutrition, Exercise, Water, Sunlight, Temperance, Air, Rest, and Trust in Divine Power (NEW START).
- Compassionate Service – Following Christ’s example of ministering to the sick, the hurting, and the marginalized.
- Evangelistic Outreach – Using health programs as a non-threatening pathway to share the gospel and build lasting community relationships.
